About DermatologyNews

DermatologyNews is an independent medical editorial publication that covers clinical and aesthetic dermatology for patients and practitioners. Our editorial team researches, drafts, and fact-checks every article against peer-reviewed literature and society guidance; every article is then medically reviewed by a board-certified dermatologist before publication.

Editorial mission

We publish balanced, evidence-grounded coverage of dermatologic conditions, treatments, devices, and industry developments. Our goal is to help patients understand options before consultations and to give practitioners a useful summary of the literature. We do not provide medical advice and we do not promote individual clinics, devices, or products.

Our history

The DermatologyNews domain has covered dermatology since 2005. Under previous ownership the site operated as a dermatology news publication for approximately two decades. The publication was relaunched in 2026 under new ownership with a refreshed editorial team and medical review board. Articles published before the relaunch are not maintained and may not reflect current evidence; the current editorial team is responsible only for articles published from 2026 onward.

Editorial team and medical review

Our editorial team writes and fact-checks articles. A board-certified dermatologist on our medical review board reviews every article before publication for clinical accuracy, balance, and appropriate citation of peer-reviewed literature.

Editorial independence and disclosures

Dr. SangYoul Yun, one of our medical reviewers, is a Korean Board-Certified Dermatologist who practices at Delight Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul. When articles reference Delight Dermatology Clinic as a clinical practice example, this affiliation is disclosed and the editorial content is reviewed for accuracy and balance against other practice references.

DermatologyNews does not accept payment for editorial placement. We do not run paid reviews, sponsored articles, or pay-to-publish coverage. Reasonable disclosures are made when an editor or reviewer has a relevant affiliation with a clinic, device manufacturer, or professional society.

How we use evidence

Every clinical claim must be supported by a peer-reviewed reference, a professional society guideline, or an FDA-cleared device label. We prefer randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and society guidance over manufacturer-sponsored white papers. When evidence is limited or evolving, we say so explicitly.
